Do we have a Dupe? - Foundation

For today's 'Do we have a Dupe?' I am comparing the 100% Pure Water foundation with the Physicians Formula Organic Wear foundation. These foundations have similar qualities in which they both offer buildable medium coverage, both contain organic ingredients, they are very similar in consistency, and both contain ‘starch’ which allows the foundation to dry down to a semi-matte finish (if you use a matte primer you do not need to set the foundations with powder as it dries down very nicely). I have found that both foundations work best when applied with a foundation brush (a flat brush to swipe the foundation onto the skin, not a beauty blender - it sucks up all the product due to the light consistency, and not a stippling brush either - it creates a very light finish). For these foundations I recommend the Eco Tools angled foundation brush.

100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Full Coverage Water Foundation

19 Shades - 30ml - Glass container with a pump - $55.63 CAD

Highlights: Does not contain oil, contains caffeine to stimulate and plump skin, coloured from fruit and vegetable pigments, first ingredient is aloe vera juice & there is no water in the formulation, has a natural scent(no fragrance added), and the packaging is nice - you can pump out the perfect amount of product and if you press gently on the pump you can disperse small amounts of product at a time.

Cons: Is quite expensive, has an expiry of 6 months, shade range runs warm (I have shade 'Cool 2.0' and it is quite orange for my skin tone)

Physicians Formula Organic Wear Silk Foundation Elixer

12 Shades - 30ml - Glass bottle with dropper - $15.99 USD

Highlights: Contains hydrating oils, contains squalene which is a humectant that helps draw moisture from the air and absorbs into the skin, it also has anti-inflammatory qualities and reduces redness, this foundation is fragrance free, and the shade range is great (I have shade 02 -Light to Fair and it matches my skin tone almost perfectly).

Cons: contains coconut oil which causes some skin types to break out, and the dropper is too big for the bottles opening so foundation spills over the sides which is wasteful.
